Home Away from Home
This month’s story is about my home away from home… Weld Plus Inc. where I spend 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. It seems like I am there more than I am at home!
Weld Plus Inc. was established in 1991 to rent, buy, sell and recondition used welding positioning equipment. We are one of the leading distributer’s of welding parts, supplies, new and used machinery in the Cincinnati area. We ship machinery across the United States as well as internationally. We have a 44,000 square foot warehouse full of machinery! Our specialty is taking an old used piece of equipment and reconditioning it to meet our customer’s specifications. After our Service techs finish reconditioning the machines, they look and work as new!
When I first entered this door to drop off my resume, I knew this is where I was going to work!
My first day on the job was December 7, 2004. This was my desk when I first started and I recently moved back to it after sitting in two other cubicles and at the reception desk.
One of my many jobs here at Weld Plus is doing the customer invoicing and billing.
I build all new accounts in our Dataweld Software. I also process and maintain all customer credit applications. I have my own color laser printer that I couldn’t live without!
We stock our own vending machines and I collect the money.. I wish my bank account filled up as fast as this jar!
The employee intranet website was my idea and creation. I maintain it on a daily basis so that our sales people have the most current inventory at their disposal and all employees have access to internal resources.
I shoot 95% of the machine photos that you see on the Weld Plus Website with the Nikon camera we just bought a few months ago. Yes I had a hand in picking that out!
I also do all the advertising for Weld Plus including our various print publications and also electronically through Constant Contact, Surplus Record and The Locator to name a few!
I created Volumes 1 and 2 of our Weld Plus Catalog of machinery as well as the color flyer that’s mailed out to potential customers.
The owners at Weld Plus are always doing something fun for the employees. We always have an annual Christmas party and have had a few summer picnics. They even took us to a local facility to race go carts a few years ago. We did this during working hours while getting paid!!!
Weld Plus is a great place to work.. there is always interesting stuff to shoot out in the warehouse!..
So that is SOME of what I do everyday!.. Hope you enjoyed it!
I’ve joined some awesome photographers for a monthly circle blog.
Check out my good friend Renee to see what “her story is” for this month!
Please keep the circle going until you end up back here!
Thanks for stopping and don’t forget to stop back next month for the next “Tell me a Story” post!
